In a career that spanned over 50 years, Dennis Hopper starred in some of the most iconic films ever made, including Rebel Without A Cause, Apocalypse Now and Easy Rider. He thrilled fans on screen as one of Hollywood’s most enigmatic leading men, as well as off screen as a hell-raising outlaw of the industry.
As a special tribute to this legendary star, David Lynch’s cult 1986 classic, “Blue Velvet”, will be presented by Future Cinema this Saturday. Shown at The Troxy, one of London’s oldest cinema spaces, the night will be dedicated to cinema’s favourite rebel, and will include live music, food and drink. In a further fun twist to the night, the audience are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite Hopper character or leading lady.
“Dennis Hopper lived and breathed cinema, a true rebel whose work has inspired many,” says Fabien Riggall, Founder and Creative Director of Future Cinema. “Blue Velvet is a dark and strangely beautiful film in which he had created one of the most compelling villains of all time.”
The tribute screening is the first in Future Cinema’s campaign to bring the cinema-going experience back to the local community. Screening films in historic and unique UK venues instead of soulless multiplexes, the events will recapture the true spirit of the silver screen.
Tickets for Saturday are on sale now for £15.00 (£12.50 Concessions) from here. Visit Future Cinema’s website for more information.
