Chanel’s summer: Cannes & St. Tropez
16/05/2011 14:30:08

From May 7th-22nd, Chanel will once again be adding the sumptuous touch eponymous with the house in an additional 300m2 of space adjoining the existing Cannes boutique.

Decorated in signature black and gold, the space has been inspired by the jewellery from the S/S11 ready to wear collection, with a graphic décor comprising golden-tiled units and an irresistible make-up bar. As well as an array of S/S11 designs, clients will get a sneak preview of the Paris-Byzance collection. Belted Erès swimwear and Karl Lagerfeld’s latest doll (clad in a black velvet suit with gleaming gemstones and crimson thigh high boots) will also embellish the boutique. On loan from the Chanel observatory are a number of gowns and suits worn by notable stars, including Keira Knightley and Penelope Cruz. Upstairs, furnished in all thinks luxurious, a small, private lounge offers the perfect red-carpet view of the Palais des Festivals.

Meanwhile, from June 1st through to October 2nd, Chanel’s summer quarters in the Hôtel La Mistralée, St. Tropez, are set to lavishly thrill. The 1850 manor house with no less than ten individually inspired rooms and private gardens, will host a number of open days for the headiest of summer outings.

Inside, the pared-back purity of minimal design contrasts the exterior opulence. A small perfumery offers fragrances, eyewear and other accessories, while the larger drawing rooms holds designs from the Paris-Byzance collection. The pool house, painted black for its new resident, is the backdrop for the S/S11 holiday collection, pairing elegance and relaxation in the featured dressing gowns, baseball caps and ‘Chanel’ embossed towels.
